A NYC based Nepali artist, Ashesh Maharjan (b. 1988) explores relationships between traditional Asian art and contemporary themes to create unique pieces.

His most recognizable work consists of a series of multi-colored linocut prints inspired by experiences, people and art in New York city. However, his style is reminiscent of the old Japanese woodblock printmakers and traditional buddhist art from Nepal. In this way he not only merges eastern sensibilities with western subject-matter, but also bridges the past with the present.

This portfolio also consist of his most recent watercolor paintings and painted vases in collaboration with ceramic artist, Karen Viaene.
